BE-category

The Category BE driving license allows you to operate a Category B vehicle with a trailer whose gross mass exceeds 750 kg, but does not exceed 3,500 kg. This category is necessary if you wish to tow a larger caravan, boat, or a heavy utility trailer containing tools, for example.

Requirements:

• You must already hold a Category B driving license. Minimum age for starting the training: 20 years.

Training includes:

• Theoretical instruction – knowledge of the specifics and safety of driving with a trailer.
• Practical driving – maneuvering, coupling, and driving with a trailer in various traffic conditions.

After completing the training and passing the Transport Administration exams, you will receive the Category BE driving license, which grants more freedom and opportunities for both work and leisure activities. The practical exam takes place in two stages: exercises on the training ground and driving in road traffic. On the training ground, you must perform the following exercises: reversing into a bay with a turn, safe parking for loading cargo, coupling and uncoupling the vehicle combination. You are given a total of 10 minutes to complete the first two exercises. An additional 10 minutes is given for the coupling of the vehicle combination. The Category BE driving license automatically grants the right to operate a Category T vehicle and a machine combination with a gross mass of up to 18,000 kg.
