The Category AM driving license grants the right to operate a moped or light motor vehicle with an engine displacement of up to 50 cm³ and a maximum speed of up to 45 km/h. This is an ideal opportunity for young or novice drivers who wish to gain their first experience in traffic and learn safe driving behavior.
Requirements:
- Training can be started from the age of 14. Exams can be taken at the Transport Administration starting from the age of 15.
Training includes:
- Theoretical instruction – fundamentals of traffic, safety, and moped driver responsibility.
Practical driving – hands-on moped driving both on the training ground and in traffic.
After successfully completing the training and the Transport Administration exams, you will receive the Category AM driving license, which grants freedom and independence in traffic.

Theoretical Instruction
We utilize the e-learning option with the Liikluslab platform. After completing the materials, you must pass the driving school’s theoretical exam. You can then proceed to the Transport Administration to take the state theoretical exam.
STEP 4
Practical Driving
Parallel to the theory course, the driving instructor will contact you to arrange a driving lesson time. After graduating from the driving school, you can register for the Transport Administration’s practical exam. The driving school has exam days available until the end of the season. The exam season begins on May 1st and ends on September 30th.
