General info
Category A covers any motorcycle, meaning there are no restrictions regarding engine displacement or power. You can only train for the full Category A if you have held a driving license for any other category vehicle for at least two years, including your initial license. You must complete a minimum of 10 theoretical and at least 10 practical driving lessons at the driving school.
Category A Driving License
A Category A motorcycle may be driven from the age of 24, but there is one exception. If you have held a Category A2 subcategory license for at least two years, you can take the Category A practical exam at the Transport Administration and obtain a full Category A license from the age of 20 (you do not need separate training at a driving school for this).
Category A2 Driving License
To obtain the license, you must be at least 18 years old (studies can begin at 17.5 years old). You must hold at least an initial Category B driving license.

Theoretical Instruction
We utilize the e-learning option with the Liikluslab platform. After completing the materials, you must pass the driving school’s theoretical exam. You can then proceed to the Transport Administration to take the state theoretical exam.
Practical Driving
Parallel to the theory course, the driving instructor will contact you to arrange a driving lesson time. After graduating from the driving school, you can register for the Transport Administration’s practical exam. The driving school has exam days available until the end of the season. The exam season begins on May 1st and ends on September 30th.
